Savannah Nomad was born in 2014 from a simple dream: to share the magic of East Africa's wilderness with travelers from around the world. What started with a single safari vehicle and an unshakeable passion for wildlife has grown into one of the region's most trusted safari operators.

Our founder, James Mwangi, grew up in the shadow of Mount Kenya, where stories of elephants, lions, and the great migrations were woven into daily life. After spending years as a safari guide for large tour operators, James realized something crucial: the best safari experiences aren't just about checking animals off a list—they're about connection, understanding, and respect for the natural world.

That insight became the foundation of Savannah Nomad. We believe every safari should be intimate, educational, and transformative. We keep our group sizes small, partner with conservation-focused lodges, and employ guides who are true experts—naturalists who can explain animal behavior, identify bird calls, and share the deeper stories of Africa's ecosystems.

Today, Savannah Nomad operates across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda. We've guided thousands of travelers through gorilla treks in misty rainforests, game drives across endless savannas, and cultural encounters that bridge worlds. But our mission remains unchanged: to create authentic, responsible, and unforgettable journeys that honor both Africa's wildlife and its people.
